Bloomberg Businessweek has hosted the Financial Institution Awards for years, to recognise financial institutions including banks and insurance companies with outstanding performance and contributions in designated areas. Winners are selected by a panel of notable judges under a stringent process.

Metro Finance and Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group have jointly organised the RMB Business Outstanding Awards for many years in a row. The awards go to those financial institutions with recognisable contribution in the RMB business. This year, Metro Finance has also hosted the GBA Insurance Award 2019 (HK Region) for the first time, awarding insurers which are trusted by the public and have a high standard of professionalism.
